News for November 2009

sigh.

I lowered the Q a bit more today, and found out how low the rear can go on Insurance Group coilovers (while only playing with the bottom shock mount adjustment), which isn’t terribly low at all. It doesn’t seem like I’ll be able to tuck wheel in the future. Too bad!

Here are some photos:

So that’s how the car sits this afternoon. I’ll be investigating ways to get it lower and if I come up with any solutions, I’ll blog about them.

sigh, broke some more things

Last night, Richard and I were driving back from San Diego when we hit something (don’t know what) on the 5 freeway. It sounded like the front crossmember dropped out of the car or something, but it wasn’t that serious. My sideskirt is all messed up now, though:

hahahaha blew a few minds yesterday

I went to dinner with some friends, who all drive BMW’s. I think I might’ve been one or two of the people who didn’t drive a Euro. They had heard about my Q, but none of them had ever seen it. After having some drinks at the bar, we went to the parking garage and my trusty ol’ Q blew everyone’s mind.

I think that reaction is why I like VIP tuning — the car is so different visually from anything else on the road (it’s also totally unexpected, too — who mods such stodgy old-man cars, anyway?). If they post the photos they took on facebook, I’ll repost them here too.

I was bored today, so I put together this quick photochop of the Wald Bentley Flying Spur.

Here’s my modded version:
